Yet another “Deepali” of this millennium has receded into the past. A festival of light, and yes, thudthud sounds. As the sweetsinpureghee melts down your mouth, those starry eyes sparkle with lights and the entire system vibrates with intermittent thunderous sounds in the air.
Hard carned money of our toil, several crores of it, is merrily spent just to create a momentary flash of supernova and to listen to its “melodious” explosion. 1 asked my children, after all those tumultuous and turbulent days, “why you enjoy cracker?” They said, we enjoy, simply! They were unable to fathom deep into their psyche and find out any reasons. And this could be again, the only answer forthcoming from many of us, grownups, leave aside the logic of purifications and purgation of our environ. Yes, we too, ‘Simply enjoy’s!
The attempt of this article is to add a little sense into the business of making such explosives for our sheer enjoyment.
